Melburnians could be forgiven for looking a little bleary-eyed on Tuesday, after they sweltered through the equal hottest night on record.
The mercury dropped to a balmy 30.6 degrees Celsius just before 9am (AEDT), equalling the record of February 1, 1902.
At 6am it was an even more uncomfortable 32.3 degrees, after a maximum of 43.6 on Monday.
Which means I spent today recovering!!!!
